Sulfuric acid is now one of the most widely used chemicals all over the world. Sulfuric acid was arranged by Johann Van Helmont in the 16th century. Sulfuric acid was produced at Nordhausen from green vitriol. Burning sulfur with saltpetre (potassium nitrate) was first used by Johann Glauber in the 17th century. Later on Sulfuric Acid was developed commercially by Joshua Ward in England in 1740.
